Many in the blockchain community have praised the importance of today in history.
Ripple’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, spoke on behalf of the company by declaring the date a corporate holiday:
„Recognizing and celebrating today’s Liberation Day. It’s amazing how many of us weren’t taught about this historic day as we grew up. Today, @Ripple is making the Juneteenth a company holiday to recognize and take action to eradicate systemic racism. This is something that should have been done a long time ago.
Isaiah Jackson, the author of „Bitcoin & Black America“ and also co-host of the YouTube show, „The Gentlemen of Crypto,“ highlighted a Forbes interview in which he appears promoting his book, „Bitcoin and Black America.
During an interview with Cointelegraph, Jackson stated that establishing economic strength could help the Black community in ways that street protests cannot.
The multi-currency ATM network, Crypto Trader, also praised the 155th anniversary of June 19. On Twitter, the company referred to the Juneteenth as „a historic day of remembrance and freedom.
